At PMS Diecasting we recognise that
the key to achieving high quality diecasting is the capability of the
diecasting machine, process controls and the quality of the tooling. PMS has made a significant investment in GoTools Ltd
which has the latest technology CNC equipment to manufacture tooling which
delivers a quality casting but also ensures our demanding cycle times are
achieved to keep the casting cost as low as possible. Our ongoing quest for improvements ensures we
concentrate not only on the cavity detail but also water cooling, gating
design, in-tool part detection and accessibility for robotics to complete the
automation process. This allows our process to provide consistent, reliable and
cost effective castings.
Zinc diecasting is a process that
allows for competitive, quality and efficient production of zinc into a diverse
range of products, and it’s a process we’ve perfected, with the intelligent use
of robotics, giving us the capacity to work quickly, with real time control and
to a consistently high quality.
We challenge the ‘traditional’ diecasting approach which usually overcomes tooling and machine inadequacies requiring costly secondary operations such as clipping, linishing and fettling. Our objective is to produce a net shape casting directly from the diecasting machine which only requires routine inspection and packing

3D Laser scanners capture the entire part geometry
for inspection or reverse engineering purposes, covering both freeform surfaces
and geometric features. 3D Laser scanners are used with a CMM and the resulting
digital copy forms the backbone of a powerful digital inspection process that
streamlines inspection processes, reduces time to market and cuts development
The LC15Dx Nikon Laser Scanner with a probing error of 2.5µm (0.0001in) mirrors the accuracy expected when using a CMM fitted with a tactile probe. This is arguably the most accurate 3D Laser Scanner on the market for product inspection and 3D Laser Scanning Reports – ideal for ISIR approval. We have extensive in-house facilities for
finishing operations and surface preparation. Many of our castings can be
finished to a high quality standard without leaving the premises. PMS
diecasting also offer a complete range of decorative finishes and performance
coatings from our approved metal finishing sub-contractors.
