The 3rd Aspiration Day at Sheffield Park Academy took place on Friday 20th January 2017. Luke Scott and Calvin Higginbottom were there to represent PMS Diecasting and talk to students about careers in engineering and roles within the manufacturing/diecasting industry.

‘Aspiration Day’ is about showing students the different roles/ jobs and courses that are available to them for when they leave school. Students from Year 7 through to sixth form were able to talk to several local manufacturing industries as well as representatives from universities, the British armed forces, financial services and charities.

Gripple was also in attendance with Ewa Smereka and John Caley not only offering their thoughts and insights into the manufacturing industry and the careers it offers, but were also able to answer many questions from the students on their Gripple products and what they do.

Associate Senior Leader for Pupil Experience at Sheffield Park Academy, Matthew Wainwright, was delighted with the turn out by local industry.

“Please may I take this opportunity to thank you all very much for attending our 3rd Aspiration Day at Sheffield Park Academy. Today has been the biggest and best yet. The initial feedback from students has been fantastic. I know that all of the students really appreciated the time and effort that you have given them today.

Aspiration Day is not a stand-alone event at Park we are continually looking for ways to broaden horizons and inspire young people to look at different employment sectors and roles within them. I look forward to working with you all in the future to develop this further.”
